Storytellers Theatre Company's acclaimed productions of The Mayor of Casterbridge,
Oedipus and The Grapes of Wrath, followed in 2002 by Women in Arms, the
first Irish story to be presented in this international series. In this
fresh and witty perspective on Irish mythology, the women of the title
are revealed as the driving forces that shape the events and ultimately,
the history of their time. Nessa, Macha, Deirdre and Maeve, are the powerful
quartet, whose loves and lusts are at the centre of the drama. Accompanied
by a live musical score, Women in Arms is an exotic and sophisticated
theatrical treat.
